Message from the Director General

Subject to the directions of His Excellency Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah of being oriented to using E-Government, the Public Authority for Environment has launched its electronic site which aims to build cooperation bridges between organizations ( whether related to the public or private sectors as well as individuals whether citizens or expats or business people or visitors) and to provide an efficient electronic services for them that are compatible with the requirements of daily life and their needs that are related to the environment in an accurate practical way to benefit the students and researchers.

The website ( www.epa.org.kw) is not just an electronic site that is concerned with the environmental affairs, however, it is a comprehensive portal that is designed for the purpose of those who likes the environment and those who are concerned with it in the State of Kuwait and abroad in order to uncover all what is new in the local environment starting from the environmental condition while providing a comprehensive database that includes digital maps for the state and a comprehensive system for GIS to be used in the environment. There is also an environmental Atlas for the different governorates in the State which provides all the date related to water, soil, and air. Furthermore, there are digital maps for all the regions from the satellite photos.

Our vision is to promote environment awareness and to create a great behavioral and cultural shift in dealing with the environment in which we live.

Our mission is mainly concerned with providing a cultural scientific message that is concerned with environmental affairs in the State of Kuwait and to document the environment condition in the sea, air and land through a professional teamwork that tends to use state-of-the-art instruments in order to form a documented and comprehensive scientific encyclopedia.

As for our values, they are mainly derived from the teachings of our religion and its directions in dealing with the environment in a balanced way while providing information with the spirit of one team.

The most important thing that distinguishes us is the establishment of the first local project in this respect which includes revised environmental information which is supported by images. The site is subject to scientific study.
